Service Coordination

Full-time | Permanent.

$20 - $25 an hour

We are currently looking for a Service Coordinator to join our plumbing service division.

The main responsibilities of this role include working in partnership with the Sr. Scheduling Coordinator to dispatch Customer calls and providing administrative support to ensure our records and databases remain up to date.

  • Coordinate the preventative maintenance schedule.

  • Update dispatch database.

  • Ensure work orders, files and reports are complete.

  • Maintain project catalogue of parts and blueprints, sourcing as necessary.

  • Order materials and parts, as needed.

  • Maintain fleet vehicle service & repair schedules.

  • Apply for gas and plumbing permits.

  • Follow up with Service Technicians and Customers to ensure work is completed satisfactorily.

  • Resolve Service Technician or Customer concerns, should they arise.

  • Periodic coverage for the Sr. Scheduling Coordinator from time to time.

  • Other duties as required from time to time.


  • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role; knowledge of plumbing service or construction is considered a strong asset.

  • Clear communicator with a pleasant phone manner.

  • Effective at prioritizing items to meet strict deadlines.

  • Handles challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

  • Punctual and reliable.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

  • Knowledge of Jonas Software is considered an asset.

Plumbing Service Technician

Full-time | Permanent.

$40 - $45 an hour

We are currently looking to add a Journeyman Plumber / Heating Specialist to our already well-established Service / Warranty team to assemble, install, and repair boiler, heaters, pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, combustible gas and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes with accuracy and timeliness.


  • Red Seal Journeyman Plumber

  • A and/or B Gas Ticket.

  • Current valid driver's license with clean driving abstract.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years Heating/Plumbing experience preferably in a service capacity.

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, manuals and maintenance instructions.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using tablets and PC devices.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and follow specific verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to provide on-call emergency services after hours and weekends on a rotational basis, 2 week duration approximately every 3 months.

The Work Schedule:

Our service technicians work a five-day schedule Monday to Friday, typically start time is between 7-8 am and finish is between 3:30-4:30 pm. There is also a paid 2-week rotating on-call schedule for after hours and weekends, the rotational frequency is approximately every 3 months. The monetary payment for on call standby is 4.5 hours pay per week when on call. If after hours work is required, compensation is paid as per the overtime provision in the UA Local 170 collective agreement.

Service Area:

The company operates only in the GVRD, spanning from West Vancouver to Chilliwack (and very few out that far) and does not typically take on work outside of this region.

Tools provided to perform your job effectively and efficiently:

A fully equipped, well stocked service van is supplied with all the necessary tools needed to perform your work. If specialized tools are required, they are readily available at our office service shop. All service vans go home with each tech daily.

What a typical day as a Service Tech at National looks like:

The techs day starts at the arrival of the first call of the day. This also applies if the day starts at our shop /office in Surrey. Our typically service days /jobs for our techs is quite varied. High-rise building boiler work and service is an ongoing program in our buildings with a multitude of direct heating manufacturer installs in the many buildings we service.

We utilize a web-based system to dispatch our technicians, complete work order and bill our clients. All work orders are dispatched to the tech via a mobile phone and all work orders are completed through this system which is connected to our office dispatch team.
